We called Children's Bridge today. We found out that we are DTC as of October 31st, two days after mom died. This is so bittersweet, on one hand we're happy to be DTC but on the other, I can't tell the one person who was more excited than we were to adopt.
We are part of group 281. If anyone else is part of this group we'd like to hear from you.

CONGRATULATIONS on being DTC and YEAH!!!! We are group 281 too!!! I was hoping that we would be in the same group!!! CB said they were going to e-mail a group list sometime this week.
I am trying to come up with something to say that will make you feel better...it is just not flowing tonight.
It is going to be a long road ahead and not having your mom to share it with is going to be difficult. You have a support network here, but I know it doesn't measure up to your mom, but we will do our best to be with you every step of the way.
Congrats on being DTC! About a week from now you'll get your list from CB with the names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of all your travel mates. It makes things a little more 'real'...and exciting. :) It's also nice to know that you've already got a connection to someone in your group!
