100th Post

This is my 100th post and it will be a good one. Firstly, I would like to wish my Tita (auntie in Spanish) and her granddaughter a very happy birthday. Both Tita and Yasmine share the same birthday. Yasmine is now six years old and my aunt, well a little bit older.

We celebrated Yasmine's birthday last weekend. This weekend Shawn and I will try to stop by my aunt's and have a little celebration with her, maybe bring some pink cupcakes for her:)

In other news, I found the trailer for the new Harry Potter movie that will be released next July, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I can't wait! I'm such a big fan of Harry Potter. When the last book came out in July of 2005 we were in the middle of our last IVF cycle, trying to take it easy, hoping that the last embryos would take. Since I wasn't going anywhere, I basically forced Shawn to get up early on a Saturday and go to Costco and pick up a copy for me. I had that book read in three days and I was in tears at the end (I won't give away the ending in case someone hasn't read it yet). I can't wait til the new and last book comes out. I wonder how it will end. In a way it's sad cuz it will be the end of the series. I felt that way with the Lord of the Rings movies. After the last one I told Shawn I was a bit upset because it was like saying goodbye to a friend. Every year we, ok, I looked forward to the movies and now they were gone. Reading this post I now realize that I sound like a geek, but hey, if the shoe fits so be it. It is a title I will wear with pride :).

Dolores, you are not a geek, Harry Potter is addicting (books and movies) and not just for kids either (well we are all kids at heart aren't we???).

As someone who cannot relate to the love of either Harry Potter or The Lord of the Rings, I can still understand the joy of a good book. I, however, am more of a DaVinci Code type.

Me too, big Harry Potter and LOTR geek. Love Battlestar Galactica too!! I cried at the end as well - I couldn't believe it!!!!!!!!! This year, all the kids we know are getting HP and LOTR movies (depending on their ages) - have to share these fantastic stories with someone's children...

I have seen all the Harry Potter movies and enjoyed them, but have not read any of the books or the LOTR books either.

I am looking forward to the movie though...
