Our First Quilt Piece!

While today was a better day than yesterday it still wasn't great until I got home. Shawn came to pick me up at the train station and there was an envelope sitting on the dash addressed to the baby. Of coure I opened it up even before I kiss Shawn hello. My spirits rose drastically when I saw that it was our very first piece for the quilt from Kathy and Joel. It's absolutely beautiful, red with yellow and blue maple leafs. Shawn loved the blue ones in particular because it reminded him of his beloved hockey team. The card that was attched was perfect. The beautiful story of how we can all make a difference, even in one life. It actually came at the perfect time as I've been wallowing in how much I feel my life sucks right now.

Thank you very much Kathy and Joel, the timing couldn't be better. You guys are amazing!

Congrats on your first square. It's so exciting to go to the mailbox each day to see if someone has sent you some great piece of fabric for the quilt. I look forward to our DTC group's quilt exchange starting!

Yay!!! I'm so happy that you have received it! I love that Starfish Story and read it to my students often when they think that they cannot make a difference.
