The week in review

It's been a while since the last post because a lot has been happening. Obviously we had Christmas which was nice. We spent Christmas Eve at my aunt's place with my cousins and their children. We ate and ate and ate and then let the kids open their presents which was fabulous. I think they were more interested in ripping the paper than the actual gift itself. Boy did these guys score! Everything from dolls to clothes to money. Lucas received a sweater with Mickey Mouse on the front and when he saw it he yelled out "Chuck E. Cheese!". I know which mouse has that kid's heart.

When we got home I sat down on the couch and felt very cold. I put on a blanket, Shawn turned on the fireplace and I was still cold. I took my temperature and I had a fever. No wonder I felt so awful. I went to bed after taking NyQuil and was passed out for the night and most of Christmas Day morning. I felt horrible. My sister's in-laws came over, Shawn picked up my aunt and Shelley and Harold came over to celebrate with us. Lucas then opened up his opened up the rest of his gifts, which included hockey skates, a helmet and the infamous hockey stick from his Tita Dolores and Uncle Shawn, lots of toys from Granny and Grandpa, Uncle Miguel and Shelley and Harold.

Then we got the news that our adopted Auntie Belle had passed away. Auntie Belle was not technically related to either Shawn or I but we loved her just the same as if she were. She fought the bravest fight agaisnt cancer but in the end she was ready to be reunited with her beloved husband Phil. Shawn and I had gone to see her a couple of weeks ago in the hospital and she asked us about the baby. She was so excited for us to get her. We will miss her something awful.

So the year has come to an end for us and I'll be happy to put 2006 to behind us as in all honesty it has been an awful year for us. The only good thing to come out of this year is that we were DTC. We look forward to starting new in 2007 and hopefully have a much better year.

We are going to spend New Year's at my sister's so she won't be alone. She only has dial up there so I'm not sure that I'll be able to post while were there, I will wish everyone a very happy, healthy, safe and prosperous new year. May we all get our referrals this year (keeping fingers crossed) and be united with our daughters soon.

I am so sorry to hear that you suffered another loss over the holidays.
How difficult all this must be for you.......
Know that 2007 will be a good year for both you and Shawn!!
