Ice, Ice Baby

I'm not referring to diamonds either. As a result of the snow storm we had last week, there's a huge chunk of ice clinging on to the side of the CN Tower. It's about 150 feet high. This piece of ice is now holding a good portion of downtown hostage. Part of the Gardner Expressway (a major highway) was closed earlier this week as a precaution. Nobody knows if this piece will eventually melt off slowly as the weather gets warmer or if it will plummet down to earth. I work directly across the street from the CN Tower. Would it be wrong for me to hope that the piece of ice will fall off the tower, fly around it, make it's way across the street and hit my building? I don't want anyone to get hurt, I just want to have a couple of days off that's more than just the weekend.

Gee Dolores. I hope there isn't a big wind storm (wink, wink)during the next few nights. If I were you I think I'd wear a hard hat and steel toe construction heels just incase.

We have been hearing about this as well and most recently heard that they had sent some ice climbers up there last night to chisel away at the ice. Weird.
Hope that no one gets hurt!

That sounds like a very dangerous area to work in. You better stay home until all of the ice is cleared away. *wink*

That is too funny - and true - that the ice is holding downtown hostage!!!

Here's hoping you get 'something' out of the ordeal!!

This winter has been something. I'll bet that it's going to fall eventually. That's a little scarey.

I heard this and I could hardly believe it! WOW. Glad to see they took action the best way they knew how. Sorry you didn't miss any work! ;O)
PS. When My DH and I were dating we went to the top and I waited around taking my time cause I thought for sure he would give me the ring. He didn't! Not at disney world under the castle while I was walking really slow either! or at Niagra falls! He did it at home when I wasn't expecting it! I guess that is how it is supposed to happen anyway right! I was just as happy.

I read about this on CNN. Crazy. Hopefully no one gets hurt...as a huge, freak gust of wind sends the chunk of ice careening through the second & third floor windows of your office building! (at 2:00 a.m. of course when no one's there except the security guard sleeping in the lobby).
