Viva Las Vegas!

In case you haven't guessed it, last week Shawn and I spent a wonderful few days in FABULOUS Las Vegas. We needed a vacation in a really bad way and we decided since we have this long wait, we might as well take advantage and go to places that aren't the kid friendliest in the world. We had so much fun! We walked the entire length of the strip which we were later told is over 4 miles long (I believe it, I have the blisters to prove it). What a crazy city! I've never been to a place where the hotels are the attractions and what attractions they were! The were outstanding! I think my top favourites were Caesars Palace, Bellagio and Paris. We also did a tour to Hoover Dam. Now that was a sight to see. It's amazing what people are capable of doing when they put their minds to it. The scenery around was beautiful too. Living in a part of Canada where everything is very flat, being around the mountains and canyons just took my breath away. The fountains at the Bellagio were specatular, the pirate show at Treasure Island was a lot of fun as well. I kept waiting for Johnny Depp or Orlando Bloom to show up. The food was out of this world too, everything from burgers to shrimp and lobster, yummy!

We went to see a couple of shows as well. We saw David Copperfield, I'm always a little leery when I see magic shows on tv (my belief was always they press pause and pull the old switch-a-roo) so my thought was that they wouldn't get anything past me but guess what, they did. It was incredible, he made a car appear and people from the audience disappear. Incredible. We also went to see O, now that's another incredible show. Thanks Nicole for the recommendation. It was spectacular!

And of course, the highlight was renewing our vows with an Elvis impersonator. I was laughing the whole time before and after the video. I couldn't believe we actually did it! Shawn had sent me an email an asking if I wanted to get married by Elvis as a joke, but I took him seriously and booked it. And the funniest thing is, as corny and cheesy as it was, I started to tear up during the vows. I know! I'm such a sap!

I've selected a few of the over 200 pictures we took. Enjoy!

Hmmm... I would have to disagree with Janet. M&M World would top Elvis I'm afraid. :)

Just kidding. It looks like it was a wonderful trip! Lots to do and see. I'm glad you had such a great time!

Good for you!! I love Vegas. Time and I won an all expenses paid week at the Bellagio through work and had a fabulous time a couple of years ago.
