The Weather

If there's one thing Canadians love to do is complain about the weather. If it's too cold, we complain, if it's too hot, we complain, if it rains we complain, if it...well you get the point. When we lived in Ontario the weather was pretty standard, we had spring, summer, fall and winter. Pretty standard stuff. Out here though, that's another story all together.

I don't know if it's because of the mountains that are close by, or what but the weather is C R A Z Y! In the winter there are chinooks, that can make the winter seem like summer. You can go from 20 below zero to 20 above zero (celsius) in one day. This often results in migranes. I've been lucky up until now, never having suffered from one. I hope to continue this but I have my doubts.

Today, was the craziest day yet. The day started off warm and sunny. By the time I got to work, it was cloudy. By mid day, it was sunny and HOT. Then it started to rain. About 5 minutes later it was sunny. Fifteen minutes later it started raining and then we heard pinging, it was hailing! I was 15 the last time I saw hail. When it stopped raining/hailing, we decided to go out. We went to Home Depot and heard that it started raining again. Then the power went out. I was thinking great, stuck at Home Depot with no power. Fortunately the power came back quickly. When I looked out the door it was pouring again and I mean pouring. And the wind, I seriously thought there was a tornado, the trees were whipping so violently. But then, just as quickly as it came, it left. Did I mention the weather here is crazy?

When we got home, our clocks were blinking, looks like we lost power for a bit too. We also left a window open upstairs. Quite a bit of rain made it's way in, mostly landed on the carpet, so that will dry. Note to self, close all windows before exiting the homestead, especially when it looks like there's going to be a tornado.

Sounds like the US midwest. That's our saying around here: "If you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes."

Your neck of the woods does have crazy flip-floppy weather. It's nice when you're experiencing something you don't like...wait 5 mins and it will change :o)
