What not to wear

When you work out what do you wear? I wear some of the frumpiest items that I own, sweats, tshirt and my hair pulled back into a ponytail. It's not pretty (my face goes all red and I usually am ready to pass out after I do about 10 crunches) but when I work out I'm all about the comfort.

However, when I go to the gym, I feel like I'm in some sort of athletic wear fashion show. Everyone is wearing their Lulu's. Even their hairbands are Lulu's. Even the guys are wearing Lulu's. It's really weird. This reminds me why I don't like to workout in public.

So back to my question. What do you wear when you work out? Am I missing something by not investing in some Lulu's?

Well, until you just mentioned it, I had never heard of a Lulu.

I'm with you...ratty tee and sweats. I also prefer my exercise solitary. It's just my thing.

I don't own any Lulus, nor do I have a desire to! I wear old stuff too, but then again, I work out at home.....

Oh, Gee, let me think....do they make them for people who are fat? The ones who REALLY need to work out? I think not. I find that fitness centers are usually for people who ALREADY look fit. To answer your question: t-shirt, stretch pants/shorts, socks and shoes. Really advanced stuff. The imporant thing is that you are doing it: working out and already getting results! Good on you!

Now I have a picture in my head of Doris running on her treadmill in her bra and undies! It will never leave....I'm not saying its bad...you know, she's got a rockin' bod....but the picture will not go away now.

Oh, I work out at home too. I watch movied on my PC when I'm on the treadmill.

I went once in a Lulu store and I was so disappointed. It's expensive and everybody looks the same.

I mix and match with what I have. Found some cheap and nice stuffs at Indep*endant and Lo*blows (Joe).
I know I will never look like the girls who are at the gym EVERY time I go...

Do I need some? Am I not cool without them?

I had never heard of them either, so I G**gled it and found a pair of Yoga pants for $71.00 and then I was like WTF? $71.00? Seriously???

Ummmmm.that would be a no for me.

Old sweat pants, stained t-shirt and tennis shoes. It exercise, not a fashion show!

Never heard of Lulus, but here we have goddess wear and it's just as expensive. I'm for the shorts and a tank top gym look, no frills, low cost. Although I did see an older woman at the gym once wearing the Jane Fonda suit, thong and all. BAD!

Oh no...Doris stuck in my head too. Get out! Get out! :o)

I walk with the old fogies (who I lap with pride even though they're all 80+ years old. Yes...no shame here!)

I wear sweats, t-shirt, no makeup and barely brushed hair. Hotness exemplified! I love hanging out on the walking track with the seniors!!

No Lulu's for this chunky arse....nope...it's sweats or Adidas work out clothes for me....I'm not there to strike up a conversation with anyone....in fact if anyone looks at me I usually roar like Sarabi at them! lol

I'm a fellow frump! So far it hasn't really been an issue for the fitness fashion police since I never work out at the gym (either I hit the pavement or exercise at home)

Sweats, T-shirt (holey sometimes, in fact). Yes, at the gym, where they are all decked out. Who gives, you know? I'm there to SWEAT. I so don't care... I'm over it. I'm 40. Don't like how I look, do what I do when I see myself in the mirror: AVERT.YOUR.EYES. Thankyousomuch, have a nice day :-P

Ok well, I guess this is a clue for ya....what's a LULU?
Yeah, I don't work out at all...so I don't have any good fashion work out advice.

My students all have LuLu bags and accessories (they can't wear the clothes because we have uniforms). It's sad when the students can afford stuff like that, but their teacher can't.
I work out in old tees and sweats from Winners. No diva here.

I'm so out of the loop, Lulu's??
I wear sport bra and shorts with curtains pulled, don't want someone to see me, think I'm in distress and call 9-1-1, LOL!!
