Thank you everybody for your supportive comments. There are still days when it's all I can do to get out of bed in the mornings. It hasn't even been four months since my mom passed away. There are still so many things that remind me of her, even going to the grocery store is hard. I still have melt downs when I walk in because I remember of all the times we would take her and she would send us on these expeditions looking for things like "that cream cheese that's named after the American city". She meant Philadelphia cream cheese. My mom always forgot the name of it.
In the midst of all this though we do have some very good news. My brother in law Mark has returned home safe and sound after a tour in Afghanistan! He is a doctor in our armed forces and was sent overseas last August. He arrived home very late Thursday evening and was reunited with my sister Isabel and my adorable nephew Lucas. I'm so happy he's back home! It's been a real strain on Isabel having him so far away and in such a dangerous place. I know Lucas missed him as well, apparently he hasn't stopped following him around, even into the bathroom. I've posted a picture that Mark took in Kandahar at Christmas.
