New beginnings

The other night I was lucky enough to meet a bloggy and travel buddy Michelle. Through our emails and phone conversations, we realized that we live pretty close to each other, about 10 minutes away. We met at a restaurant that was in between both of us. I have to apologize to Michelle because Shawn accompanied me inside as he dropped me off from the GO train station. When Michelle saw Shawn, she thought that a moment that her husband Mark was suppose to come to, not the case this time, it was only the girls. We sat and had a great conversation and in between we somehow managed to eat. The conversation was great and flowed so easily. We talked about so much it was amazing, of course adoption, infertility issues, our families, work, and a whole bunch of other things. We found out that our husbands are also similar in that they're very adventurous with food but usually pay for it in the end, our birthdays are only 2 days apart and our husbands are about 3 weeks apart. We talked about our homes and renovations. As you can see we covered a lot. Before we knew it, it was well past 9 pm and it was a work day too! Shawn came to pick me up after I called him and so he got to speak to Michelle for a while as well and get to know her. We left the restaurant and I felt that we had both made a connection and that we are going to become good friends, not just through this journey but afterwards too.

Then I found out that Michelle got sick...man did I feel bad! I hope you're feeling better sweetie.

My ear is feeling better in that it doesn't hurt anymore but I'm having trouble hearing. It still feels like I have cotton shoved in there and so I have to ask people to repeat themselves a lot. Now I'm hearing an echo. I'm going to go back to the doctor for a follow-up and hopefully this is something that can be cleared up quickly. This is starting to get annyoing. I hope I don't need a hearing aid.

Sounds like you two had a great time. Isn't it great that you can meet people that you otherwise would have perhaps just passed by on the street and never met? I am so thankful for the people we've met through this wonderful, supportive and caring community.

Take care of that ear.
