Sisters

I'm very lucky to have the sister that I do. Isabel may be younger than me (only by a little bit though), most times she takes on the role of the older sister. She always presents the logical and rational side of things whenever I fly off the handle. Isabel's always there with advice whenever I have a problem. She is a constant source of inspiration to me. She got into med school after only three years of undergrad (from where she graduated with High Distinction I might add). My sister has also been doing an amazing job of raising Lucas, often on her own as Mark has had to be away due to his stint in the military.

We were hoping that they would be moving closer to us, about 40 minutes away but we just found out they are actually going to be settling in Alberta which is about five hours away by plane! Ugggh! I get why they have to go out there but I wish they would have been able to settle down closer to us. I've had people say dumb comments to me again "Oh, you're losing your sister, huh?" I don't get why people have to open their mouths sometimes.

Just like Janet refers to Ontario as Evil Ontario because her sister is here, Alberta shall now be called Evil Alberta. I guess I better start to look at flights to see how much it'll cost to go out there. Life really sucks sometimes. I think I need some serious retail therapy.

So sorry to hear your sis and her family have to move so far away.

Have some fun with the retail therapy. You'll have to show off what you get!

Oh Sweetie!!!! I COMPLETELY understand! I really do! I am so sorry that Alberta will be Evil to you now, but I totally get why!!! The only upside to this is that if you ever come to visit your sis......you can come and visit ME!!!! :-) I would LOVE that!

Commiserating with you FULLY,

Janet

What a testament to how much you love her that you'll miss her this much... sorry she couldn't be closer.

That is going to be hard. Maybe you will just need more vacation time in Alberta! (or Batavia. your pick)

Poop! I am sorry they are moving far away. The only thing you will lose is $ from the long distance bills and flights to visit. You will only continue to gain strength and love from your relationship with your sister.

Keep smilin!

My sister is far from me and it's hard. I see maybe 2 or 3 times a year. It never seems to matter though. We're always just as close. Distance can't touch us.

That really sucks about your sister moving so far away. You can NEVER lose your sister she will just be a phone call or e-mail away!

In the meantime retail therapy usually works for me!!

Sorry to hear that she is moving away. I moved away and ended up coming back, I missed it back home and my sister threatened me with my life if I ever considered it again! Who knows, she may be back before you know it.
