My Etiquette Rules for Riding Public Transit

  1. If there is someone who needs the seat more than you do, give it to them.  It's just good karma.
  2. Take off your backpack when on the bus.  You just end up whacking people and making them very angry.
  3. Turn down your iPod. I don't care what sort of music you listen to, I don't want to hear it.
  4. Don't have a full on conversation on your cell phone unless it's an emergency.  I don't care about what your plans are for the weekend or what you're going to wear to the dance or what you're having for dinner.
  5. Don't wait until the last minute to get off the bus then yell at the bus driver because you missed your stop.
  6. Keep your voice down.  Once again, I don't care to hear your conversation.
  7. Just be courteous.  It is after all public transit.  It's not just you.

this made me laugh because people just think on the bus that it is all about them.
