One Year Blogiversary

Today marks the one year anniversary that I started this blog. That was when I foolishly, naively or optimisitcally believed that we might actually be holding our daughter today. My how one's view of the world can change in a year.

In the past year:
  • I've lost my mom and Auntie Belle
  • I discovered our wait time could be triple what I originally thought it would be
  • Shawn was in a major car accident and walked away with only a couple of scratches
  • Mark went to Afghanistan and returned home safely
  • I went to New York City
  • I learned that the worst situations don't always bring out the best in people
  • I've also learned that sometimes you get the best surprises where you least expect it
  • I learned that I can deal with the worst pain ever and still wake up in the morning
  • I've met some of the most amazing people because of this blog

Thank you everyone for sticking with me through the good and bad. You don't know how much you all mean to me and how much strength I receive from everyone. Thanks for keeping me sane.

Dolores,
As I read through your list I am reminded of so many things about this past year. I must have found your blog shortly after you started it as I remember almost every single event you mentioned. What a year for you and your family! I still remember being so sad when you were gone away to New York as I had no updates on you. Glad we found each other in this journey. Now, if we could only get it together and find a way to meet!

Happy one year Blogiversary. I'm so so sorry you had to go through that. This coming year can only improve on last, right?

I'm really happy that we had the opportunity to meet, and Josh and I are looking forward to Saturday! :)

Wow - that is quite a year!! I am sorry that there were so many bad parts, but there were good parts too. Sometimes it is hard to remember the good parts though.

I am going to have to do some back reading of your blog and catch myself up!

I know a good thing about my past year is the friendship that we have developed and the knowledge that our kids will probably know each other before we know them!

It's crazy how fast the times go by. You have had quite the year, bitter sweet in many respects.
I hope this next year goes by quickly for you (and the rest of us), so this wait is not so unbearable!!

Mostly, am very glad to have 'met' you through blogging!
